  • Vision:

To ensure everyone can access a meal with dignity. We believe no one should go hungry, especially in a world where food waste is rampant. EATBOX Foundation aims to transform surplus food into warm, nutritious meals for the homeless, single parents, children, seniors, and low-income workers, while reducing waste and delivering hope for a better future.

    Background and Motivation:

In the thriving tech hub of the Bay Area, hunger persists: single mothers juggling multiple jobs, children attending school on empty stomachs, seniors skipping meals to save money, and working families struggling with rising costs. Meanwhile, tons of food are discarded daily—often because they’re “not pretty enough” for shelves or nearing expiration. We couldn’t ignore this contradiction, so we founded EATBOX Foundation to turn surplus food into “boxes of hope,” delivering not just meals but dignity and compassion.

As our founder states: “We believe no one should have to choose between dignity and a meal.” This is more than food—it’s the start of transformation.

    Funding Needs and Use:

To formally establish EATBOX Foundation, we aim to raise $50,000 in seed funding (adjustable based on needs) for the following key startup phases:

    • Registration and Legal Setup ($5,000): Complete 501(c)(3) nonprofit registration, legal documentation, and tax compliance to ensure lawful operations.

    • Initial Operational Equipment ($15,000): Purchase kitchen tools, packaging materials, and a transport vehicle to launch surplus food collection and distribution.

    • Website and Marketing ($10,000): Optimize the website, develop a donation system, and fund initial promotional efforts, including social media ads and local events.

    • Volunteer Training and Pilot Program ($10,000): Recruit and train volunteers, and launch a pilot project to distribute 1,000 meals to Bay Area shelters.

    • Contingency and Administration ($10,000): Cover unexpected expenses and basic administrative costs.

Every donation will be used transparently, with regular financial reports to show donors the impact of their contributions.

    Expected Impact:

    • Short-Term: Serve over 5,000 people in need in the Bay Area with nutritious meals while reducing food waste.

    • Long-Term: Expand globally to serve over 1 million people, fund multiple projects, and partner with 100+ organizations.

    How to Donate:

Contribute via crowdfunding platforms or direct donations—every dollar helps pack a meal.

    Rewards:

Donors receive thank-you certificates, exclusive progress updates, or invitations to volunteer events. Donations of $100+ can name a “Box of Hope.”
